Bobby Sheen was a fine singer and although he recorded under his birth name he was perhaps better known as Bob B. Soxx as lead singer of the Blue jeans.
Born in St Louis in the year of 1941, Sheen was actually raised in West Hollywood in California.
The Blue Jeans were a creation of Phil Spector and with Darlene Love being a part of the group Spector knew he had an accomplished singing group to work with.
After leaving the group Sheen had a good solo career and became well known on the northern soul scene in the UK with primarily “Dr. Love” but also the very underated “Something new to do”.
Bobby Sheen died in November 2000 but we have this brilliant track to remind us of what a tremendous talent he was.
